Great article. I’m still a fan of ‘chemistry’ + getting to know each other. Keep doing what you love (as long as it gets you out of the house) and when you least expect it…magic.
I’ve noticed that men are typically more resistant to individual rejection but get concerned if they’re single or celibate for a long while, whereas women are often more hurt by individual rejections but are more willing to stay single for longer periods (even years) and to believe that their ideal man will find them. Interesting dimorphism there.
I loved this essay, and I know I'm an exception, but I met the love of my life on an app, and we knew it was love by the second minute of our first date and we're been married five years and have two kids. I would argue only that if both seekers aren't shopping, but seeking, it can (and often does) work. My issue was trying to decipher which women (I'm CIS) were not shopping, but seeking...I got very, very, very lucky....

thanks for reading! Overthinking relationships only benefits subscription-based dating sites!
The getting to know each other part is harder online, where most people make friend and date matches
I like everything you write, James.
Gracias!
