Such an interesting read and, I love your humor! I'm about to go look in my frig to see if there is anything organic in there. I must admit...I prefer the 'organic' blueberries from Costco, which is a strange partnership between the elite organics and the cost-saving Costco. (A far cry from Whole Foods)

For some years, my office was near a Whole Foods Market and I ate lunch there almost everyday. They had an amazing food bar and I definitely felt healthy but also like I was part of something. In retrospect, it was healthy just because it was full of well prepared vegetables and saved me from fast food. The shopping clientele was actually very diverse. During that time, I would have considered myself a holistic health person. But since that time which was some years ago, most of the holistic health providers I found via the Whole Food world became anti-vaccine right wing types. I became much less enamored with organic and interested in sustainability and local products.

local overtook ‘organic’ as the real mainstream symbol of premium food in the past 15 years...organic has retreated in power and influence...
